About Eastern Waterproofing & Construction

A local waterproofing and restoration contractor based in Midtown Manhattan, working on water damage cleanup, drying, waterproofing and construction repair in New York, NY.

Who We Are

A Manhattan waterproofing and restoration contractor

Eastern Waterproofing & Construction is a water damage restoration service and construction contractor operating from 10 E 39th St in Midtown Manhattan. Our work is centred on water: finding where it entered a building, removing it, drying what it has affected, keeping it out afterwards, and repairing the parts of the property that were damaged or opened up during the process.

Because we handle both the restoration and the construction side, a project does not have to be split between a cleanup company and a separate repair contractor. The same team that dries the structure carries out the waterproofing and the finishing work, which keeps the scope and the schedule in one place.

We work on residential and commercial properties, including apartments and units within larger buildings, brownstones, offices, retail spaces and common areas. Each property is different, so the sequence of work is set after we see what has happened rather than applied from a fixed template.

How We Work

From water damage assessment through to restoration

Our workflow follows the same logical order on every project, from the first inspection to the final finishing work.

1. Water damage assessment

We start by looking at the affected areas and establishing what happened. That means identifying the source of the water where it is still active, taking moisture readings on walls, ceilings and floors, checking adjoining rooms and spaces that may be affected, and determining which materials can be dried and which need to be removed.

2. Cleanup and water removal

Standing water is extracted and the affected areas are cleaned. Saturated materials that cannot be dried in place are removed in a controlled way, and openings are made only where they are needed to reach wet cavities and allow air to circulate.

3. Structural drying

Air movers and dehumidification are set up to dry framing, subfloors, plaster, concrete and drywall. Readings are checked as drying continues, and the drying stage runs until the affected materials are dry, because repairs made over damp material trap moisture in the assembly.

4. Waterproofing

Where water entered through a wall, foundation, basement or below-grade surface, waterproofing work addresses that path. This is often done while the area is already open, since access is available without disturbing finished surfaces a second time.

5. Repair

Removed and damaged materials are replaced: drywall and plaster, ceiling and wall sections, subfloor areas, trim, and any framing or masonry repair associated with the affected area.

6. Restoration and finishing

Surfaces are taped, compounded, sanded and prepared so the repaired area matches the surrounding space and the property can be used normally again. We confirm the finishing scope with you before that stage begins.

Where We Work

Serving Midtown Manhattan and surrounding areas

Our office sits in Midtown Manhattan, close to Murray Hill and Kips Bay, and we work regularly in Turtle Bay, Gramercy, the Flatiron District, Midtown East and the surrounding Manhattan areas. Being local matters on this kind of work: the buildings share common construction patterns, water tends to travel in predictable ways through stacked units and older assemblies, and access is often through occupied lobbies, service entrances and shared corridors.

That familiarity shapes how we plan a project, from where equipment can be staged to how the work is sequenced around neighbouring tenants and building management requirements.

How We Communicate

What you can expect from us

A clear scope

We describe what we found, what work we propose, and which stage each task belongs to, so the project is understood before it starts.

Direct contact

You reach us by phone at +1 212-696-1622 or by email, and you speak with the people carrying out the work rather than a call centre.

Honest limits

If part of a job falls outside what we do, we say so instead of taking it on, and we explain what kind of trade the remaining work requires.
